#1028 Viton® Sponge
#1028 is a closed cell Viton® sponge formulation that is manufactured with a continuous skin on both sides. The skin makes the sheet stronger and more tear resistant and even when the surface skin is punctured or cut, the sheets will not allow the pasage of air or fluid between cells. The non-absorbent sheets are highly compressible, resilient, lightweight and provide good thermal insulation.
Like dense Viton®, #1028 Sponge is generally resistant to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, oil, fuels, ozone and weather, lubricants, and animal or vegetable oils. It is also resistant to acids and hot water.
#1028 Viton® Sponge sheets have a service temperature range of -10
o
F to 400
o
F; however, elevated temperatures while under compression will have an adverse effect on the resilience of this material.
