Providing Protection for Cables and Conduits
The most common material used for this application is the Armaflex® AP, AP/SA insulation, a flexible elastomeric thermal insulation with an expanded closed-cell structure for efficient insulation. The key advantage of this low-cost insulation is that it can be provided in many forms.
If you have a large area to cover, Seal & Design Inc. can supply the insulation in sheets up to 48" wide with an adhesive backing. We can die cut shapes for this material as well. The Armaflex can also be wrapped around pipes or traditional aluminum ducting to decrease sound vibration. In this instance, we can slit the material to a predetermined width, and provide it with or without adhesive backing.
If covering a standard size round pipe or conduit, the Armaflex AP is also available in 6 foot lengths of formed tubing. Seal & Design Inc. provides the tubing in un-slit lengths, or slit along the length with adhesive on each side of the slit to aid in installation.
We can also slit and custom die-cut our silicone materials for this application, but they are not available in tubing.
