Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc. Pledges up to a $5,000 Donation Based on Booth Activity at the 2008 APTA EXPO

Donation will be made to the United Way Southern California Wildfires Recovery Fund.

Rochester, NY.  September 26, 2008—Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc. has pledged a donation up to the amount of $5,000.00 to the United Way Southern California Wildfires Recovery Fund.  Visitors to their booth, #607, at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) EXPO who qualify as potential customers will be awarded a poker chip worth $25.00 to help achieve the donation goal.

“The railcar industry has very stringent smoke, flame and toxicity regulations for rubber materials that are used in passenger railcars.  Chamberlin Rubber Company specializes in supplying these materials to the industry and we wanted to draw a connection between these materials and the charity we selected for our donation.” said Andrea Truini, Marketing Manager for Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc.  “The other factor in selecting the United Way Southern California Wildfires Recovery Fund was that we wanted our donation to benefit the people in and near the San Diego area, the host city of the 2008 APTA Expo.”

According to the United Way website, the Southern California Wildfires Recovery Fund represents a collaboration of several United Ways across that region.  The United Way will activate a local volunteer committee of community leaders from all of the involved counties to address the long term needs of the people and communities affected.  Gifts to the United Way Southern California Wildfires Recovery Fund will support services that help to bring a community back better than before (e.g. housing, mental health, quality child care, job training).

July 3rd, 2008

As you may or may not be aware, Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc. supplies the Smoke, Flame & Toxicity tested rubber materials that is used on the interior of passenger railcars in the United States.  These materials are used for vibration control and insulation in the walls, ceilings and floors.  You can also see Chamberlin Rubber materials on the window seals and door seals.

What’s so fun about that?  Well, maybe nothing but it definitely makes you safer while riding a train.  Here is the fun part, a little clip of The Blue Man Group and their experience with the New York City subway.

MedTech Golf Tournament - A BIG Hit!

June 5th, 2008

Hello Friends,

Yesterday I went on a big adventure with Bill to the MedTech Golf Tournament at Turning Stone Casino in Syracuse NY.  We arrived at Turning Stone early and headed directly for the driving range.  Our shots were straight and long and beautiful!  After lunch we had the pleasure of tackling the Shenendoah course with our two new friends, Vic Cardona and Brett Hutton, from Heslin, Rothenberg, Farley & Mesiti.

I have awarded myself the title of “she who lost the most balls” as it seems like I donated a ball to every hazard that would accept one.  Even my favorite smiley-ball was lost to the woods.  My only hope is that it will be adopted by a native living on the course. A gentleman at dinner told a story of a course he played where if you hit your ball in one specific spot a fox would run out, grab your ball and take it back to its den.  That fox must quite a collection by now.

None the less, it was a fabulous day, we all had fun and we didn’t come in last place!

As always, here is a picture from our adventure.  Don’t laugh at my hair- it was quite humid out there.    medtech-golf-event-6-4-08.JPG

MedTech is a not-for-profit regional trade association comprised of Upstate New York technology manufacturers, research institutions, allied professional services and economic development organizations with shared interests in collaboratively developing technologies, products and services for the global medical products marketplace.

Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc. is a new member of MedTech and it is our hope that through this organization we will be able to meet companies that are working on new and exciting products that we can help enhance with our ability to custom die cut FDA approved/skin safe materials.  This is a new industry for Chamberlin so we are excited to have taken part in this event and the opportunity to meet such interesting people in this field.

Have a great weekend~

Chamberlin’s Customer Appreciation Event = HUGE success!

June 3rd, 2008

So, remember a couple of posts back I mentioned that we had invited some of our customers to visit us here at Chamberlin Rubber Company, Inc, check out the Senior PGA tournament at Oak Hill Country Club and take in a little golf ourselves?  Well that event happened and it was a great success!

Unfortunately Mother Nature’s invitation must have gotten lost in the mail because she gave us cold & rainy weather both days but we rallied and enjoyed ourselves anyways.  Here are some pictures for your enjoyment…

Sam & Kevin  Sam Pennacchio & Kevin Marple.

golf-outing-024.jpg  HEY!  That is Kevin!!

You may notice that there aren’t pictures of everyone who attended our event - I was disappointed about this too but unfortunately our groups got separated and I was only able to get pictures of Kevin! I guess we’ll have to wait for next year to get more pictures.

Enjoy the week, hopefully the warm sunny weather will be upon us soon.

Chamberlin’s GlobalSpec Product of the Week - June 2

June 3rd, 2008

Welcome to June everyone!  My favorite month of the year because I get to celebrate my birthday- but not until next week so for now I will just celebrate the GlobalSpec product of the week

This week I selected HT-800 closed cell silicone sponge.  This material is one of our Smoke, Flame & Toxicity tested materials, a favorite for our customers who build passenger railcars.  Next time you are on the train take a minute and think about how much rubber material is surrounding you between the outside of the car and the shiny inside that you can see.  Can you image how loud your commute would be without that vibration control?  Me neither!

May 20th, 2008

Word on the street is that people have been missing my blog-postings!  I am sorry that I have disappointed you but I promise to try and do better.   This week I have selected Viton Closed-Cell Sponge as the GlobalSpec product of the week.  These non-absorbent sheets are highly compressible, resilient, lightweight and provide good thermal insulation.  For more information

In other news, this week we have invited some of our customers to visit Chamberlin, tour our facility and take in a little golf.  More information to follow…

Until then,

Chamberlin’s GlobalSpec Product of the Week - April 21, 2008

April 23rd, 2008

In honor of our recent visit from Andy Nardone and Tim Wilson from Rogers Corporation this week I have selected to highlight BF 1000 - Extra Soft Cellular Silicone for this week’s GlobalSpec product of the week.  BF 1000 passes the smoke, flame and toxicity tests needed to be installed in a passenger railcar.

What are the features and benefits of BF 1000? Well, here you go…

  • Excellent memory and low stress relaxation reduces maintenance costs associated with gasket failures due to compression set and softening.
  • Softness allows designers to use less force to seal enclosures and still protect their device from the environment.
  • High compressibility allows material to conform to variable width gaps and awkward shapes, thereby allowing engineers more design flexibility.
  • Resistance to ultraviolet light, ozone, extreme temperatures, and flame enables consistent performance in all environments.

Sounds great doesn’t it?  What are you waiting for call us today at (585) 758-1027!  Or even better contact us with our new Live Chat - if we aren’t there leave us a message and we’ll get right back to you!bisco-15-fav.JPG

Chamberlin’s GlobalSpec Product of the Week - 3/31/08
